Metronome: Yes, and this will be happening in the next big update to the app’s menu system, which is in the works and should enter beta testing in early 2026 if all goes according to plan. The plan is to have it side-by-side with other instruments in the volume/pan mixer, e.g.:
- Guitar
- Mandolin
- Bass
- Feet
- Metronome
Count-in: Lots to consider here, because the “count-in” is actually multiple sounds. Currently there’s a spoken count and/or a dampened guitar strum, and in the future there could also be a voiced/chorded guitar strum, a metronome-like click or drum tap, etc. In the case of the guitar and metronome, wouldn’t it make the most sense for those to “inherit” the volume settings from their respective instruments? But then I’m not entirely sure what to do about the voice. Anyway, I don’t want to have a whole separate mixer just for the count-in, but I have to figure out what to do here. If Strum Machine was smarter about matching the volume of the count-in to the volume of the instrumentation, it might be less necessary to adjust the volume manually. As you can tell, questions remain. ![]()
