FYI: I almost always add a 4-bar intro to the tunes in my library. I prefer using the intro to set the key and tempo instead of the count-in for full tunes. Sometimes I’ll stop and work on a section that is giving me trouble. When I just focus on a few bars at a time I use the Count-in feature which requires multiple mouse clicks to turn if off. I’d like the ‘C’ key to toggle its status so I don’t have to grab the mouse and move it.
I’m going to be adding a new settings interface to Strum Machine this year, including a keyboard shortcut customizer. I’ll be putting a bunch of commands in there to let users bind keys to them, including toggling the count-in.
There are also a couple other things I want to add that come to mind:
- An option to strum a few bars as a count-in (which would eliminate the need for manually writing out the intro section)
- A way to have different count-in settings for loops
