We recently passed through Winslow Arizona so of course I had to learn this song!
This is a faithful rendition! Thanks! I prefer the tempo at 70 instead of 72 but this is a great track!
Thanks! That’s funny about the tempo. I found the original about 71 bpm but bumped it to 72 for more energy, missing the low mixed banjo like the original.
Too bad we can’t get a running Scruggs style banjo track in SM. Or preferably a clawhammer banjo with a half dozen options for scale focus points, pull offs etc.
Someday, someday…
Wow this is a complicated chord progression. What are the small multiple chord spots? Are those quick walk downs and ups?
Hey Ryan, yes, forced bass walks.
I use SM as backing tracks for solo performance on dobro and lap steel. I try to utilize all aspects of SM so that my tracks don’t all tend to sound the same. Copping bass walks from original versions of the songs I cover helps to change it up and also is reminiscent of the original. This progression is taken from the Eagles version of this song.

Thanks Brian for the explanation. That’s so cool you are using sm for backup and performing solo. This app/software can do so much cool stuff! I use it very simply, to practice banjo with simple back up tracks to prepare for our local bg jam.
