Hi All
Over the years I have managed to download many lists of tunes from generous members of Strum Machine, however this has included many duplicate tunes; tunes I am not interested in; tunes that I have found versions more to my liking; or tunes in keys that I don’t play or are out of my voice range. My question is…how do I pare down these lists to only the tunes I want to keep?
Thanks for any responses
Dennis
Just create a lot of lists of tunes. I probably have 100 lists of tunes. This image is just the Celtic portion of the lists that I want to keep track of. I have subsets of tunes such as Celtic tunes that I can play fairly well on the guitar (I mostly play fiddle). I also use date-coded list names such as 2025-03-17 Sugarland that contains a playlist of tunes for the Sugarland assisted living gig. I delete date-coded list names if I don’t need the list anymore.
Create lists for particular keys, such as this one. I also keep lists of tunes that I’m comfortable calling at a session, or other lists of tunes that are not quite ready to perform.
Thanks for the response David. I have quite a few lists but the issue is to be able to search for a tune without going through a pile of lists and paring down the duplicates or tunes I don’t need. I have come up with sortof a solution but it is very time consuming. I have made a list called “-Mega List” where I import all the tunes. This is a very slow process and each tune (>1200) has to be added individually. This will give me a single list with all the tunes alphabetically ordered so duplicates are readily found. Later I can go back and pick versions I like and delete what I don’t want. Maybe once I have all the tunes imported it won’t be such a chore to maintain but right now it is pretty daunting. It would be nice if I could add lists as a whole or cut and paste multiple tunes to this -Mega List as this would cut down the work considerably.
