Hi all,
Is anyone using SM as a backing track to play live? I play guitar, mandolin and banjo, and I was wondering if anyone plays solo anywhere using SM as backing? Perhaps
that would be beyond the capabilities of SM. Anyway, was just curious.

Yes, if you have a good pair of speakers, it is very simple and effective. You have to keep time tho, SM does not account for mistakes ![]()
i record sm and add instruments. have made some backing tracks putting sm into my amp with pedal effects.
For small community-based gigs, barbecues, etc. I use my Fishman Loud Box Mini through which I run my Martin and vocals. I run Strum Machine via the Blue Tooth on the amp.
Works wonderfully!
Yes but only the bass. I play in a duo and sometimes trio. We’ve been using the bass as backing. It’s been working out really well.
