Popping sound when staring and stopping

When I am playing songs on an iPad connected to an amp or mixer using irig 2, there is an audible ‘pop’ sound when starting and stopping the tracks.

Anyone know of a fix for this?

I replied to Ron through email, but for anyone else reading this who has encountered the same problem, please let me know so that I can get a better sense of what’s going on. In particular, I’m keen to know the following details:

  • When did you notice this becoming an issue? Did it happen to coincide with an iOS update?

  • Does the issue happen when you are not connected to an external amp/mixer, i.e. when using the internal speaker?

  • If you access Strum Machine on the iPad by going to strummachine.com in Safari, does the issue still occur?

Audio bugs (which are generally caused by problems at the OS or hardware level) are my nemesis – doing my best to work around them as much as possible!
