Sometimes I slow down a tune for learning and practice purposes. After logging out and returning, the tune still has my changed tempo. How do I restore the tune back to its original tempo if I don’t remember what it was. Thanks!
Yes, Strum Machine is designed to remember your last tempo, key, and other settings so that you can pick up where you left off.
It’s not currently possible to revert to the “original” tempo, but that’s because that original tempo is rather arbitrary. I did not make much effort to make it match a recording or an “ideal speed”… just something within (and usually on the lower end of) the “range of reasonableness”, which can be quite a wide range of BPMs for some songs/tunes.
If you want to make a note of the starting BPM for a song, you can write it down in the Notepad under the song. (Tip: if you write it like “100 BPM” it will become clickable so you can reset the BPM with one click.)
Hope that helps. Adding the ability to revert the tempo isn’t out of the question for the future, although it’s a very rare request and I like to avoid adding extra buttons when I can.
Thanks for your quick reply. I didn’t realize that the tempos were not “official”. So I guess it doesnt matter what the original tempo was. Im glad in a way that it remembers my previous setting. Im using the app to build up my speed. I like the feature where you can tap the spacebar to set the tempo for the tune. That lets me listen to a version on YouTube and lets me figure the tempo that they are using. Thanks again for a great app.
I recently subscribed and after playing (and adjusting) a few songs I immediately looked for this feature. Although I understand that tempos aren’t official, for those of us just discovering the repertoire it’s extremely helpful to be able to both slow a song down but also to bring it back up to the speed we “should aspire to” with a click. I’d like to be able to revert all of a song’s settings back to their default.
