Hi Luke, I’m getting the bug where Strum Machine doesn’t play sound if I play it after I listen to a tune in another app. I am working on an iPad running the most recent version, 17.5.1. Usually I run it with a Bluetooth speaker.

I like to switch between listening to a tune in Anytune Pro and editing the Strum Machine backup. Typically when I return to Strum Machine from Anytune, Strum Machine won’t play sound and I have to close it and then reopen it. This has been going on for a long time. Please let me know if you need any more information to help me with this frustrating bug. Thanks! -Ruth-

Hi Ruth. Sorry about the audio issues, and also my tardy reply—I’ve been traveling.

I’ve heard some other reports similar to yours, and while it’s a tricky part of the system to investigate and improve on, I will look into this further in the future and see if I can improve the situation. I may be in touch asking for more info later.

I’ve had similar experiences but it seems to be related to the speaker/ipad rather than anything else. I often play through a small Sonos Bluetooth speaker and every time I connect to it, even though the iPad confirms connection to the speaker and Strum Machine is running, it can take as long as 20 seconds to start playing through the speaker. Everything is silent during the 20 seconds. Recently I started using a small Bose Bluetooth speaker and it always connects and plays immediately. I’ve not had any lag before it starts playing music from the speaker. May be more of a device problem than anything. At any rate I’ve not had any experiences where I couldn’t get things working.

Thanks for the info. I’ve been using the beta version which seems to have fixed the problem. A few days ago I deleted and reloaded the regular Strum Machine and hurray, the problem doesn’t occur anymore. Plus there are so many other nice things and fixes, so I’m a very happy subscriber.
