Time signature adjust mid-tune, 3/4 to 9/8

I’m stuck! I’m attempting to add a 3/4 waltz that has a 9/8 measure in it. It is Jenn and Anthony’s Waltz by Colin Grant of Cape Breton. I love the tune! The problem is the first measure in the 3rd line. Using math, 3/4 is 0.75 and 9/8 is 1.125. I need to add a partial measure containing three 1/8th notes.

Jenn and Anthony’s Wedding Waltz

I think I can do it with two measures of 9/8 in the space of three measures of 3/4.

Changed my mind. It can’t be done without the ability to add three 1/8th notes to a measure, or without regard to a measure.

Yeah, I’m afraid you’re right. I may add the ability to switch between 3/4 and 6/8 and/or 9/8 in a future update. There were roadblocks and design challenges that kept me from doing that in the first version of mid-song time signature changes, though it’s been awhile and I can’t recall what they were, only that I couldn’t figure out a satisfying way around them.

It doesn’t matter, you can use 3/4, 6/8 or 9/8 in this tune because the rhythm doesn’t change, every measure is 123 123 at the same speed. I tried it with the whole thing at 3/4 @150 bpm, 6/8 and 9/8, @ 50 or 60 BPM. To me they sound better than the 3/4 time version but that has more to do with the Guitar rhythm choices. Colin calls the tune everything from a waltz to an aire depending on which youtube video you watch and he takes some freedom with his timing and to me doesn’t play it at all like a waltz.
